Thailand’s Sanguan Farm Achieves Certified Humane® Cage-free Certification
Sanguan Farm sets a new benchmark for animal welfare and supply chain transparency as demand for cage-free eggs continues to grow
Bangkok, Thailand – 18 August 2026– Sanguan Farm, one of Thailand’s leading cage-free egg producers, has achieved the internationally recognised Certified Humane® cage-free certification, marking a significant milestone for Thailand’s egg industry and supporting the country’s transition towards more responsible and transparent egg production. The achievement was celebrated at a ceremony in Bangkok attended by representatives from Sanguan Farm, Certified Humane®, Global Food Partners (GFP), and egg industry stakeholders committed to advancing higher animal welfare standards across Thailand.
As food manufacturers, retailers, hotels, restaurants, and other foodservice companies across Thailand and Asia continue transitioning their egg supply chains to cage-free, the demand for trusted, independently verified suppliers is increasing. Third-party certification provides buyers with confidence that eggs are sourced from farms that meet internationally recognised animal welfare standards, while helping companies demonstrate transparency and progress towards their responsible sourcing commitments.
Certified Humane® is one of the world’s leading farm animal welfare certification programmes, providing independent assurance that animals are raised according to rigorous welfare standards covering housing, management, health, and care.

Sanguan Farm has been at the forefront of Thailand’s cage-free transition, investing in modern production systems that enable hens to express their natural behaviours while maintaining high standards of animal welfare, food safety, and egg quality.
For several years, Global Food Partners has partnered closely with Sanguan Farm to strengthen both its production capabilities and market opportunities. Through technical support, on-farm training, and knowledge sharing, GFP has helped the farm optimise cage-free animal welfare, farm management, and production practices, supporting its journey towards Certified Humane certification. GFP has also connected Sanguan Farm with leading food and hospitality companies seeking reliable cage-free egg suppliers, helping the farm access new commercial opportunities as demand for responsibly sourced eggs continues to grow.

“This certification represents an important milestone not only for Sanguan Farm, but for Thailand’s cage-free industry as a whole,” said Pawitra Lauchuenchomkul, Thailand Corporate Engagement Lead at Global Food Partners. “We’ve had the privilege of working alongside the Sanguan team over several years, supporting continuous improvements in cage-free welfare, farm management, and market development.
Their achievement demonstrates that Thai producers can successfully meet internationally recognised animal welfare standards while giving food companies greater confidence in the integrity and transparency of their supply chains.”

“Achieving Certified Humane certification has been the result of years of commitment, investment, and continuous improvement,” said Khun Sathit Kruarattikan, General Manager of Sanguan Farm. ” This achievement reflects our commitment to providing the highest standards of care for our hens while giving our customers confidence that they are sourcing eggs produced to internationally recognised animal welfare standards.”
Certified Humane Perspective, Luiz Mazzon, Regional Director for Latin America and Asia at Humane Farm Animal Care, said: “We are proud to recognize Sanguan Farm as the only Certified Humane farm in Thailand — a milestone that reflects the farm’s commitment to higher welfare, transparency, and sustainable practices. This achievement strengthens our pledge to partner with more Thai farmers, expand access to certification, and help ensure that an increasing number of certified producers contribute to improved farm animal welfare across the country.”

The certification reflects the growing collaboration between producers, food companies, technical experts, and certification bodies to strengthen Thailand’s cage-free egg sector. By combining producer investment, independent certification, and increasing corporate demand, the industry is creating a more transparent and resilient supply chain that benefits producers, businesses, and consumers alike.
As demand for cage-free eggs continues to expand across Asia, Sanguan Farm’s achievement demonstrates that Thai producers are well positioned to meet evolving market expectations while strengthening animal welfare, supply chain transparency, and responsible sourcing across the region.

About Sanguan Farm:
A pioneer in Thai egg farming for over 60 years, Sanguan Farm’s cage-free production is certified under the Department of Livestock Development’s GAP standard, and it recently became Thailand’s first commercial-scale farm to achieve Certified Humane certification. Hens are raised in closed, biosecure housing designed around their natural behavioral needs, under the close supervision of livestock specialists and veterinarians.
Sanguan Farm is also the only industrial-scale farm in Thailand to develop its own layer breed — “Thai Brown” — built on Department of Livestock Development research. Naturally hardy and disease-resistant, the breed is raised without antibiotics or growth hormones.
Eggs are packed under GMP, HACCP, and Q-Mark standards, delivered within 24 hours in temperature-controlled vehicles, and regularly lab-tested to ensure consistent quality and food safety.
